Bubinga Bubinga is sometimes called African rosewood. Most bubinga has a strong beeswing figure. It's color is similar to mahogany, but it is much heavier and more difficult to work with than mahogany. Producing a tone somewhere between mahogany and indian rosewood it makes an interesting looking guitar.
