Sitka spruce has the highest MOE-to-density ratio of all commercially used spruces. This means it is a very stiff wood. Varying in color from white to pink to a light brown, some even has a "bearclaw" figure (like that pictured). Sitka is well suited for steel strings and produces a balanced tone. Sitka is used on all Wesley Acoustic 12 strings and thin body guitars. |
