Honduran Mahogany
Honduran Mahogany
Swietenia macrophylla
Honduran Mahogany comes from a variety of places and is becomming increasingly difficult to find. Having recently been added to the CITES II appendix, its future as a tonewood is in question. Because of easy availability, it was in the past associated with midrange guitars. It produces a nice mellow tone and given it's declining availability will likely become associated primarily with higher end guitars. |
